House of Calabash, Back in Business

I just read a post from Eva Books (daughter of the late Steve Books) on Facebook (under “House of Calabash”) that she will be producing and selling a selection of tobacco blends that her father had created. This is good news for me - I was very fond of Grandfathers Own and For Meerschaums Only. I wish Eva much good fortune.

I wish her the best of luck. Steve had some old tobacco and lots of fans of his blends. I still have some of them stashed away. I remember he said he sold some recipes to Rich's, so there's a potential source there. Some of his blends were based on McClelland tobacco, so those are gone forever.

Those were the 20-30 year old blends right? I never tried the stuff. Interesting. I'll wait for reviews. Good luck to her.

I never got a chance to try any of those blends, despite a strong recommendation from one of my first and few real life pipe buddies. Hope she does well with the venture!
