Tomorrow I will be staying inside and burning some tobacco.I live in Carolina. It's suppose to be hot here this time of year. Not this hot though. It's supposed to be 99 degrees. That's just plain crazy. At least the little woman doesn't mind me smoking while I watch tv in the den.Maybe I can watch some guy use a million dollars wotrh of machines to build a hundred dollar table.

One reason I live up here in the frozen North is that I don't handle heat well. Just slept through a few days of too bloody hot weather.

Uncle Arthur maybe it's genetics. Coming from a Brit background - I do lousy in heat in CA - we had some 100+ temps here in Sonoma/Napa Counties.

I live in central Texas and its usually 100 + by noon. doesn't make for enjoyable pipe weather. Which is why I can only enjoy my pipe in the evening (the warden wont let me smoke in the house).

Evening is best for a smoke here in Central Florida, too. Usually in the mid to upper 90's and 99% humidity at noon. Currently 78, and with the humidity it's 81 @ midnight.

it's the humidity that kills.

i would love my word to stay between 70* and 40* with about 10% humidity

The humidity is a killer even smoking in the evening but also makes me appreciate milder weather. So it's a win loss thing cause in a few days it should be better.

It's been over a hundred degrees at my house everyday for a month.
110 108 106....everyday. It was 102 at 8:30PM the other day.
My HVAC went belly-up the other day, contractor starts installing a new one today,.....for eight grand.

I've just about surrendered everything except burleys.
I smoke indoors. Coming in from a hot day at work and the heavy blends still don't taste right.

Greetings all,
I lived in Phoenix for 12 years, and have now lived the past 6 years in Denver.

I can say, without a doubt, I prefer the heat. Winters in CO can be depressingly long. Summers here are warm, but too short, with rain every day, and some genuinely frightening thunderstorms. Not good for someone who enjoys riding a motorcycle and bicycle.
Summers in Phoenix can be brutal (I've survived 121 deg. in 1995), but spring and fall are glorious.
Thankfully, I still maintain a residence in AZ to escape the snow and cold.
Here's a couple of cliches:
"I'd rather sweat than shiver" and,

"You don't shovel sunshine!"

cold: can always bundle up and rub two sticks together. thats why the good Lord created trees. He knew that if we played with matches would burn our fingers.
heat: naked, but you get a really really bad sunburn. that's why the good Lord created air conditioning because He knew man was going to screw up the ozone layer and play in the hot sun. don't think He realized the severity of dumb ass we would turn out to be. otherwise would have put birth control pills in fruit.

LMAO, Grouchy sums up my attitude nicely. Still waiting for the heat to show up on Canada's South West coast; highest temps we've seen this year are mid-70's, with our average hovering around 60f. Put the window AC units in last month, but we're still using the fireplace...although I shouldn't complain, wood-smoke means I get to smoke Latakia in the house.

Isn't that the truth, whatever happened to craftsmanship?
