A little to far of a drive for me, but I hope your meeting is a success! Take pictures and let us know how it goes!

mike, I haven't been in Hong Kong since it was a British Crown Colony, but what a city it was/is. Nothing

else quite like it in the world. I think the old Victorian British residual (and I know there is less and less left)

is a good one for pipe smoking. Maybe a photo of the Founding Fathers/Mothers of the Club is in order,

gathered on Victoria Peak before sunset.

Thanks all for the encouragement - there are five of us so far. We are out in the Sha Tin New Territories area and will get a pic at our first official gathering

Good luck with your club - I look forward to pics. I haven't been to HK in a long while, but absolutely loved my visits there - a great city.

Well - the initial meeting of the Hong Kong pipe club was attended by me - last minute four cancelations - one medical the others schedule and oh i forgot related - i on the other hand met and had a great time - i held a smoke ring contest and won - i bought everyone present a drink - we all had rum - we smoked rlp6 in one of our favorite savinellis and reminisced about the days in the US when we all used to gather at the pipe smoker in Lafayette - we shared stories about alan addotto and toasted to a friend coach Tuck of dripping springs texas who passed away the day before - when the evening seemed complete - i walked down the riverfront back to my flat in belair gardens - from my 18th floor balcony, i sat and had another smoke - looking forward to the next meeting - everyone there was a winner!!

Mike:
You live in one of my four favorite cities in the world. And while I haven't been there since well before the Handover, my memories are vivid.
Does Rosie's Bar and Grill still exist? (Like Bar-O-Bar in Buenos Aires, those two joints were epic in the 80's. Both were hangouts for ex-pats looking to blow off steam and have fun back then.)
Keep flying the piper's flag, my friend.
