Hi, I have aquired what I believe is a pre-1958 Charatan Makes Countryman, Selected FH. I don't seem to be able to find much information on this piece. I've been a cigarette smoker for 30 years and have recently been vaping. I've never smoked a pipe but have always enjoyed the aromas from those who do. I'm keen to give it a try and intended to clean this nice pipe up myself. But as I understand, this is quite a rare pipe, and if that's the case I don't want to potentially damage something of importance or value. If I can figure out how to post some pics, I'd really welcome any comments regarding what I have found.

For information about the Charatan Countryman model, including when it was designed and who designed it, look at the section above the forum entitled Ken Barnes on Charatan and Upshall. Ken trained at Charatan, where his father was the General Manager. I compiled his posts so I know that Ken covered the Countryman.

Also, welcome to the forum, from the Center Of The Known Universe!
