Hi from South Africa

Hi all thanks for the add.
I am from Worcester South Africa, a wine farmer by trade and a hopeless nicotine lover .

I have been a smoker for more than 20 years, started my pipe journey about 10 years back, it stalled because I had no one to teach me the correct technique and i gave away the cheap excuse for a pipe I started with along with the hideous tobacco i tried to start with.

Fast forward to the covid19 lockdowns of 2020 and with the help of a local or two and the internet I gave it an other try.

No looking back, I have a collection of cobs and briar pipes that i love and thanks to the wealth of information on the www and retailers like 4Noggins and my brother who lives in the EU have grown my cellar of tobaccos that I like.

I am a a big fan of VA and English blends but smoke a lot of other blends too.

Currently enjoying C&D’s Haunted Bookshop and GL P, Union Square (Pretty much my go to blends for now).

Welcome! I have been to South Africa several times (mostly visiting Limpopo/Northern Province, as well as one trip to KwaZulu-Natal). Have never been to your province (Western Cape?), but it looks beautiful. The geography and scenery in South Africa is just so diverse -- something for everyone. It's a shame what's happening there with the government (and all the associated economic problems), but I certainly don't need to tell you that. Just good to think of you sitting there in your vineyard, surrounded by all of your country's natural beauty, puffing away on your pipe!
