Found a Alfred Dunhill Shell Briar in my Uncle's estate (he was not a smoker). Seems it was presented to him and it's new in the box and case. I can find no info on this model. Looks like current model 4101, except it has a silver band at the joint. Any items where I could find out more about this pipe?

That’s a 103 Shape, so whatever Group Number ;general size number) it is will be first, followed by the 103.

Yes please, a nice shot of the bottom stamping will tell us a lot about the pipe!

Nice! It's what we call the Ad pipe because that pipe with the band was used in Dunhill ads for a few years. It's a very desirable piece!

FYI, Many times the box and the pipes don't match. ?
Wow- you're right about the ad! I just noticed it's the same as the cover of the included brochure. So if it is a 5103 (or 6103, not sure how to tell), is it a problem that the box shows 6003?

It's a beauty! It shouldn't be problem selling it with the wrong number on the box. Shops mix them up sometimes. How tall is the pipe?
5103
All Measurements in Inches
Overall Length: 6
Bowl height: 1.9
Bowl Diameter: 1.5
Bore: 13/16
Weight: 57g
It is stamped 39,which I believe means 1999.
What is the best way to offer it so that someone can enjoy it?

Put it up on eBay for sale. Some one will want it. It's gorgeous with that band.

Yup I’m sure you ought to get at least upwards of $300.. most likely more. Might be worth waiting to list for a while I’m not sure how many people are buying right now.
