So, i have been sitting on this review for a about a month now, and i belive i can do this particular blend justice. I was gonna be the first to do a review on tobacco reviews but sense i waited too long senoir Jim took that honor. With that said, thank you Jim for the great review because this blend is quit nuanced and hard to pinpoint acually components separately, which really helped in my flavore extraction.

The tobacco itself is a blend created by good o'l Russ Ouellette for the Hearth & Home marquee series. This blend is made from a blend that was already a staple in the Marquee series, El Nino. The make up is a hodgepodge of Virginia, Dark Fired, Latakia and perique, although i have not done the honor of purchasing a tin of the original mixture i can imagine its great just the way it is. What makes this blend intriguing to me, is the process in which this blend undertook its transformation under the watchfull eyes of Mr Ouellette.

They took El Nino and stuffed it into a tequila reposado barrel to rest, I am not sure for how long it sat in the barrel. I can tell you that the smell that comes from the open tin is amazing. The sweet aroma of tequila fills the nostrils with a slight tingle. Opened the tin shows colors of brown, tan, gold and black in a chunky ribbon cut.

The strong aroma mixed with tobacco is extremely alluring, almost like its an aromatic but with no toppings or casings. You can smell the tequila was a very fine vintage and strong. When you pack the tobacco, pack tight because it tends to burn a bit hot and fast but will reward you with an enticing flavor. Which is hard to pinpoint what is similar, still can't think of anything.

The tobaccos themselves are flavorful and all detectable except for the Virginia as Jim explained. It seems as though the tequila essence overwhelmed the light Virginia's and hides the flavor from them. The dark fired and latakia is what stands out the most with the perique in third. But with this unique blend the flavors meld together like a mixed drink made by the finest Japanese bartender. The smoke can be thick depending on your cadence but won't bight unless you try to.

It states that less then 1,800 tins were produced which is a very low number compared to some of the C&D small batch blends. It has been available for some time now and am surprised it's still available. If you desire something like Sun Bear without the honey, this blend could be good for you. The tequila is much more present in this but kind of has the room note which the wife enjoys.

Give this blend a shot before its gone because it's a lovely smoke. Maby not an all day blend but well worth it to me. Jim also gives this 3 and half 🌟 but would get 4 from me if we're a bit stronger. Or if it were in flake form,, that would get it to the 4 stars. Maby I'll try makeing a cake out of it with a little red va to give it a bit more V.A flavor. Thank you for reading and injoy a pipe filled day.

Your "a bit stronger" comment goes to show the wide range of tastes and individual preferences amongst pipe smokers.
Switching to a pipe got me off a serious cigarette addiction so I avoid Vit N and have become a bit of a lightweight since [though I'm convinced that there's more involved in a cigarette addiction other than just the nicotine] and I like to inhale after several 'sips' so I prefer milder blends.

When reading one of JimInks reviews, as soon as I read that a blend has 'mild to medium nicotine' or higher, I'm out.
Although there's many blends like El Nino Reposado, that sound interesting, I'm grateful for the blends that do suit my taste and preferences.
Thank goodness that blenders cater for all of us.

Exactly, that's why I read reviews. I read them not in the sense of a review to know what is best or has the best reviews. But in the sense that this is somebody's personal opinion, and if enough opinions are similar, then you can formulate an idea in which you could decide if said tobacco is for you.

I have been smoking cigarettes for around 21 years, Started with Prime-Times and then went to cheap OTC cigars and finally cigarettes around 12-13. You can see my age in my bio so that can tell how nicotine should be affecting me i.e no effect or should I say few things can effect me in the nic department.

So me saying, I would like this blend more if it were stronger is an easy fix for me to do myself, by mixing in some stronger tobacco to suit my taste. But that's not a true review of the blend itself that is still very good on its own, and enjoy it anytime of day or mixed with say a couple coins of Gawith whisky twist. Hits the nic just right and still smells good enough for my wife sooooo!!!! Win win I guess 🤷‍♂️

@Puffaluffaguss I smoked cigs from a very young age and was a daily smoker for over 35 years.
When 14yo a mate and I would go to the city tobacconists to buy strong exotic smokes like Gitanes, Russian Sobranie, clove cigarettes and American made brands like Camel non-filter, Winston, Pall Mall for example.
We also smoked Cafe Cream cigars and similar.
The weird thing is that I can't recall ever being affected by nicotine.

Over the last couple of years smoking cigarettes, the cravings became ridiculous.
Quit attempts were like white knuckle torture and it wouldn't matter how long I'd abstained, when I became stressed or depressed, I simply did not give a crap, I'd grab a smoke and that was all it took to fall off the wagon.

Although there was a definite adjustment period going from cigs to a pipe, it worked for me psychologically because a puff on a pipe was better than nothing.
I've not had nor craved for a cigarette since.

After smoking mild blends for over twelve years, I really notice anything stronger.
I don't like the 'nic spins' . . . I've got my weed for that
