Most of you have seen pictures of my father, in the Veterans Day posts, etc. Well, he passed away on Friday. Don't feel sorry for me or him. His passing was peaceful, so we're grateful for that. He had a life well lived and left for his eternal reward with no regrets.
My sadness turned to pure joy on Saturday when my daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter arrived for the holiday.
We had a post a couple of weeks ago about the book "Helping Daddy". I bought a copy on Ebay and gave it to her last night at her first birthday party. The wife took this photo this morning and I thought it might make you smile. (I was not smoking the pipe....so relax child welfare folks).

Great picture! And great story, including the tribute to your father. Hopefully that pipe was later filled with '965 and put to good use.

Very sweet picture, Al. I remember when my Dad passed away and my younger brother looked at me and said," Now you're the head of the family." It took some time for that to sink in.

Very nice picture Al. You both look happy. I am glad you found the book. It should go with her through life and be shared with her children some day.

My condolences too Al. Sorry for your loss but glad you have peace of mind, and a little girl to cheer you up. I have a 17 month granddaughter and every time I see her all troubles seem to fade away.

What a fine young girl, so alert and focused on the story. Who's in charge here? Never mind, I know.

Wonderful pic; Wish you many more moments like this one.
I got to post some pics where my kid is running around with one of my brand new chubby pokers pretending she is smoking :)

We sent Pap off in style yesterday. Here's his obituary if anyone is interested.

Having this little lady with us for the week sure makes it easier.

Oh my goodness. I share his birthday!
My condolences to you on your loss - but what a grand age he was. And what a little cutie your granddaughter is!
