Are there no markings on it? Usually on the underside of the shank is where you'd find them
it could be a no-name basket pipe from any number of places, do you have a rough idea of where he might have bought it?
@Christos D. Tsatsaronis might be able to shed some light? But most likely it's a no-name basket pipe bought from some random tobacconist in Greece and could have been made by any number of manufacturers. Have you tried smoking it?
Sorry for the delay. No, I haven't smoked this pipe myself (though I have tried a Pipex K10 and Prince London). However, my father used it regularly despite owning many other pipes. He was a passionate pipe enthusiast with a collection of around 50 pipes, I haven't count them.
