Pretty new to the pipe and I have recently acquired a serious case of PAD after starting out with cobs and enjoying the occasional puff. Always loved collecting older things that are not easy to come by and fixing them up ,so at least my wife was not entirely caught off guard by my most recent eBay transaction list... Having done a bunch of reading, decided I would start with the basics; Savinelli, Comoy's, and Peterson's and learn as much as I could about identifying them etc..I started scouring for estate pipes to bring back to life and enjoy when I came across this little guy. I was surprised to find this pipe sitting with one bid and about an hour left. I figured there were lots of people with better eyes than me constantly pouring over eBay for pre republic Petes etc. The question I have about this pipe is the numbering, it is marked 1314 and I cannot find much information on Peterson's with 4 digit style codes. Anyone out there know what the extra 1 stands for? Thanks in advance!

Not sure about the model number but the stamping Made in Ireland in that pattern puts the pipe around the 1945-1947 era. To learn more check out the Peterson Pipe Project.

Nice grab! It looks like it's in unusually good shape for a pipe that age. I like the proportions.

It was the Made in Ireland that made me jump. And yes, the pipe is in near perfect condition, I was actually not expecting it to be as clean as it is. Out of 6 pipes I just bought of varying age it is far and away in the best shape. Figure for $50 shipped I did ok.
