I posted perhaps in the wrong sub forum, but needed some guidance on a new estate purchase. Not sure how to link that post here. But it’s in the “show off your === here” area Nording Extra. Any help or advice appreciated. My first estate clean up.

Is there a Nording N on the top of the stem?

A note on the older Nording grading,
Nording continued with SON pipes for only a year or two before changing the company name to Nording in the mid-'60s. ... Nording's were exclusively freehand shapes, graded from A, B, C, D, up to its highest grade, extra. Later an "F" grade was added—less expensive than the "A".
Where EXTRA fits in the circular logo/numbered grading system...don't know.

:)

Dmcmtk, Thanks for adding the link to my other post. I do not see an N stamped upon cursory inspection. I’ll be able to see it better tomorrow after soaking in oxyclean tonight and starting to clean it in the morning. My guess is it’s probably not there because even if the color is gone some impression, however faint, should be there.

Update: reamed and cleaned top. Salt and alcohol soak now until tomorrow morning. Stem out of oxy soak and ready for micro mesh and polishing. Paragon wax and halcyon for the top when dry and clean.

Stem cleaned, micro mesh sanding pads, obsidian oil, a tiny bit of wax, drill with buffing wheel buff, soft cloth, more obsidian oil. Looks pretty good.

Waiting for the Bowl to finish salt alcohol soak.
