Help ID the Stamp on the Band

i have seen this pipe - shape like a Bing, the brand being Marcelle, and no other mark. i hope it was made by Sauron
there is a ring at the end of the shank : can anybody comprehend the runes and its meaning.

I think that’s an early Gryffindor pipe from Dumbledore’s school days. Nice find!

The photo is a bit unclear. It’s possible it says “VCF” and was possibly made by Vincent-Coutier et Fils from Saint-Claude.

wow. that is another possibility. i have not bought the pipe..still sleuthing. very sharp observation on the VCF. i will search more for it, thank you sir !

the pipe arrived. not very cheap, but the stem is a replacement push fit whilst the shank is threaded, and the pipe is stained heavily. the only stamp on the shank is "Marcelle" with silver ring "VCF" (or CVF??) which most likely means Vincent-Couitier & Fils. French through and through

Hi All the pipe came back with new stem and polished back to its natural finish
Now i need to decipher the mark on the Ring..i believe it shows the year it was made?
