Now that I have your semi undivided attention Let me ask this Newbie question," Can I use a sealed packet of Deoxidizer to put in my tobacco container to keep the tobacco fresh?
Curious minds need to know

I am confused, Forrest....just what is a deoxidizer packet? You don't mean a dessicant packet do you? (I can speak with authority about these.) Please clarify.... :?

If you do, I would think that would have an adverse affect on the baccy.

The best thing I know is a water type humidifier. You can get them at the local B&M.

But the best thing would be a good bail top jar, or a Mason type jar with a good seal.
Other wise we have a mortician as a member... he could tell you how to keep things fresh.

Mates let me explain what the packets are used for.
They come in the doggie treats we give to the our "Bow Wows". They are supposed to keep things fresh.

If the tobacco container is sealed, such as a Mason jar or a glass jar with a tight lid, I don't think such a thing would be needed.
Not too sure about those packets though, I would be concerned about contaminating the tobacco.

What has turned out to be a good rule of keeping tobacco stored for me,

is that if I don't know what it is and/or don't want it in my body,

then don't use it. If the blend dries out, I can always re-hydrate it.

You can even do this on the spot, or when you're in a hurry. Fill the

Pipe with the dry tobacco. Cup your hands around the bowl, to form a seal

and exhale 3-4 times into the bowl. The moisture from your breath will

re-hydrate the tobacco. If you have time, place the tobacco in a bowl

and cover it with a towel, moistened with distilled water. Do not let the

towel come into contact with the tobacco. Leave it for a few hours or

overnight, depending upon how moist you want the blend to be.
