Hey Everyone, I’m a new member, I just got into the pipe life shortly before my dad passed away as I was looking for something to occupy my mind in those difficult times. It’s now become a fairly out of control passion of mine!

I have mostly Petersons, a couple Savinellis, and I’m about to order 3 Barlings.

I’ve become very into the traditional English pipe shapes as they can transport me mentally yo the distinguished Victorian gentleman, something akin to Sherlock Holmes which I’m also a big fan of.

In the very early days of my pipe smoking, tobacco questions, and general pipe questions, I’ve always been led here by Google and found great answers to any questions I’ve had.

I can’t wait to learn a thing or 7 from you old timers that have kept the art alive all this time, and maybe one day be able to pass it on to the next “me” who comes along.

Welcome from Northeast PA, friend!

Many of us here are just as nerdy/sentimental about our connections to this pastime, so don't worry, you're in good company... weird, but good 😂

Very cool profile pic... congrats on the next step of your journey puffy

You won’t be disappointed with those Barlings. They are my everyday pipes. I also love traditional English shape with sharp finishes and Barlings fit that perfectly.

Welcome from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! I started the pipe life a year ago, for the same reason; sorry for your loss. I've found that the pipe gives me opportunity to slow down, think, and enjoy life for a few minutes, rather than simply having the days fly by in a blur. There's a lot to learn, which I enjoy. And it also provides many opportunities to spend money.

Glad to have you here!
