Hello!
Just got started pipe smoking a few weeks ago. Impulsed on a few cobs, a pair of meerschaums, and a Briar. I'd have to say I love Meers and Cobs. Meers being easy to clean and Cobs which makes me feel rooted. Currently reading some material on the best way to cellar some tobaccos so I can give my half-pint jars something to do!
About me:
I'm 32 living in Long Beach Ca. I emigrated here at age 19 from the Philippines. Grew up partly in manila and my mothers fishing village in Cebu. Currently working to transfer to a university for my Bachelors in CS. Got into pipe smoking because of Gandalf but looking deeper, I recall my grandmother would smoke tobacco housed in a fresh banana leaf every night beside my bedroom window. There was something about the sound of her puffing and the smell of the tobacco that gives me comfort and off course her loving memory. I take pleasure in pipe smoking as it gives me a pocket in my day that I can just unwind and just "be" . Most often than not, I play some ambient DnD on my speaker and smoke my churchwarden and get into that zoning mode.
Currently, I prefer English and Non-aromatics. LOV blends and Perique, Virginia blends, not a cavendish fan. Looking into trying out Burley's and Dark Fire Kentucky's -That War Horse bar is looking mighty fine!-. Looking forward to meet other people in the area and hoping to chat and have fun in this forum.
Cheers!
