Welcome! My advice is to buy a few 1oz bags of tobacco of different types to see which ones you like. Oh, and but as many pipes as you possibly can

Welcome from Texas. As a long time cigar smoker you might find favor with light to medium bodied English style blends. Sutliff match Sunrise is a good one for reference. It is a match to Peterson (formerly Dunhill) Early Morning Pipe. Sutliff 759 match is another good one and available in bulk. C&D has a lot of bulk offerings as well. Check out smokingpipes.com and tobaccoreviews.com to get some ideas about what sounds good.
Be sure your pipe tobacco is reasonably dry, don't pack your pipe too tight, and smoke slowly. Relights are not the enemy.
