Hello all, I have been an off and on pipe smoker since the early 80’s. My dad got me interested in pipes as an alternative to cigarettes, and pipes were a common bond for us until I decided to quit cigarettes. I stopped all tobacco use for a number of years with an occasional pipe here and there. I recently have gotten back into pipes as a hobby and have been enjoying it greatly. I’m a 75% aromatic, 25% non-aromatic smoker. My favorites are Country Squire blends with Old Toby probably at the top of the list. Shepherds Pie, or HGL by Lane for my non-aromatic go to. I have a modest collection of decent briars that I inherited from my father that date from the late 1950’s to the early 1960’s (I was born in 1964, and I think having a family put an end to his buying new pipes.). Other than those, I have a good Mearchaum, a few cobs, and a new Nording bent poker (Cherrywood shape) that I have been breaking in the last week. While I did learn a lot from my dad about pipe smoking, this site has been a wealth of great information. I’m looking forward to interacting with all of you.

Welcome @PlaysWithMatches. Azle...like Steve/Pipestud says about the cows a little south of both of us down around Wacko--the cows are giving evaporated milk right now (typical weather here in Hopkins county).
kindly

glad to have you here. Pipe smoking is one of those great pleasures that can always be refined a little bit more depending on lots of factors.
