Hello All!
Currently living frosty in Northern Ohio. I'm a newbie to the pipe world. I've currently decided to dip my toes into the water of this hobby after digging out a box of assorted pipes and smoking accessories that belonged to my Grandpa. I have many memories of him smoking and the smell of Captain Black.
I feel the urge to try this out especially now that I am a Grandpa. Is it an age thing, nostalgia, IDK. I just hope to learn as much as I can in order to enjoy the most of this hobby.

Consider yourself very lucky... my grandpa was what got me into pipe smoking too though my family just threw out all his stuff when he passed (I was 7 so didn't have any say in the matter). I still remember the intoxicating smell of Middleton Cherry coming from his den room easy chair... that along with the only thing I can remember about his pipe (a rusticated billiard) and his penchant for fishing trips to Ontario, caused me to assemble my own tribute to him with my first *real* pipe... a Brigham 123 rustic... though I'd still give my entire collection to just have his crusty old (probably) Grabow lol...
