Has anyone experienced any pipes with the heat-resistant graphite insert like in the new Rattray’s or White Elephant pipes? I have been tempted to just go ahead but before I do let me know what you think?

only knew one guy that liked them. He was prone to burning out pipes. Guy took ten minutes to smoke a pipe with 1.5 inch chamber depth.

Buy an old The Pipe on Ebay for $5 to try a graphite bowl out.
I have one I use as a taster, but wouldn't get a second.

I have the pipe and THE SMOKE phenolic resin pipes that have pyrolytic graphite chambers—I like them; they’re neutral and a great choice for smoking blends that I fear might ghost a briar pipe.

as in dust generation
