Heart Wrenching Suprise

Today when I arrived home there was a package on my doorstep. I wasn't expecting any packages so this as a great surprise to me. I opened it and found a letter. It was from a soldiers wife. The lady had explained that she knew me from a photo of me and her husband from Afghanistan. In the picture I was smoking a pipe. She went on to thank me for saving her husbands life, but last week he finally passed. In the package there was a pipe. Her husband had bought it while he was alive as a token of gratitude. He wanted to bring it to me personally but he couldn't.

There was a mix, that a lance cpl smoked when I was in Lebanon. I don't know what it was, but there are times when I can almost smell it. He left this world in the summer of 75, and I miss his friendship.
Now you have this pipe from your friend, and I hope you use it often, to share his friendship.
