JR Cigars has SG's Squadron Leader. I've had it bookmarked for some time and finally got an e-mailed note last night. A phone order didn't work so I ordered it online and the addy is www.jrcigars.com
Hope it's okay to share this information. I've been lurking long enough to see others give out availability reports, but I'm also old enough to know that all pigs aren't equal at the trough. (FNGs like me always walk a fine line.)
I've never tried SL and I'm really looking forward to it. We've got a great B&M here in Topeka but the owner has a hard-on against tinned pipe tobacco. To his credit most of the house blends are heavy on the neighboring McClelland company in Kansas City, but I'm still looking forward to trying smokes all of you cats write about.

Well, fjord, in my opinion, Squadron Leader is a decent mild-medium "English" smoke. Many have said that it is an all-day smoke. There are just too many good smokes out there for me to feel the need to snatch up any SL. Out of curiosity, does FNG stand for F-ing New Guy? I've never seen that abbreviation before.

P.S.- Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Hia, Lord:
You nailed FNG with a tack hammer, pard.
I've had a pipe stuck in and out of my cakehole for over thirty years and never appreciated the nuances and culture until I set aside the nails a few years ago.
When you have time please share with me your idea of an all day smoke.

Well, I don't get to smoke all day, so let's go with what I think would be a good all day smoke... If I get to smoke ONCE a day, I'm really lucky.

For English-style blends:

G.L. Pease Westminster is awesome. An awesome amount of depth, without overpowering your senses as I find some more full-flavored blends do.
For Virginia/Perique blends:

It's a toss up between Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake and Dunhill's Elizabethan Mixture. Both are pretty well balanced with no bite and just a hint of spice coming from the Perique.
For Aromatics:

Lane 1-Q. - Everyone around loves the rooms note, it packs easily, and burns easily without getting too hot. It also is light on the humectants, which is always nice.
Hope this helps!
-Jason
