I got around tonight to cleaning three pipes I bought estate a while back. I got me a Georg Jensen Granat, to match my Fireman - which will make me a nice travel kit if the Granat turns out to be a good smoker. I also bought on impulse two other pipes, sisters also, called Polo. They are half bent billiards, one brown (with quite a nice grain) and a smooth burgundy. They cleaned very nicely. While the brown seems to be drilled a bit off, it was the work horse out of the two (judging by cake and rim stains) - so I am guessing that the previous owner appreciated its smoking capabilities.
I don't know anything on the brand though, and can't find anything online apart from a couple of ebay sales, which told me I got them for a bomb price, and an entry in pipedia.org that resumes to the following sentence: "Started as a brand of Civic, then to Cadogan, also a brand of Savinelli".
Anybody got any further info?

'Sounds like a small brand that got sold several times. There must have been something desirable about it to keep buyers coming. I thought I heard a slight echo of recognition in the name, but I can't come up with anything.

Yeah ... nothing over the internet still. I will post some pictures once I put them back together, after work this evening.

All nomenclature would help, but country of origin stamp would be a good start
