As the saying goes, "long time listener, first time caller". I've found these forums very useful in my brief, exciting journey into the world of piping. Happy to be amongst fellow pipers.
Came to piping, and smoking of any kind really, late in life. I was always intrigued, but never tried it. Happened to be on a trip in Texas and found myself with a few hours to kill. Noticed a Pipe World in a shopping area around my hotel. Stopped in, bought a Cobb and a few samples and the rest is history.
I'm very interested in trying new blends, and even experimenting with blending myself. Also, perhaps unfortunately, have caught the pipe collecting bug. Love the artistry.
Smoking a vintage Canadian Brigham 547 with some C&D Autumn Spice as I type. I prefer the english varieties, but felt like something a little sweet tonight.
Best to everyone and thank you for inviting me a new member.

Thanks for the welcome.
Just how many is 'too many pipez'?
Well, only been at this a year, so I don't know how many I'll accumulate, but there's already more than I'll probably smoke! I'm sure I'll be putting them in shoe boxes before I'm through...

Welcome!

After four yrs of this 'hobby' or nicotine delivery pursuit, I have way too many pipes. I've enjoyed the process of acquisition via auction a little too much.

I could have stopped after my first two auction wins and have enough of a group of pipes to smoke happily into the future for less than $50.00. These included meers, briars and cobs.

Part of the enjoyment of this 'hobby' is the tobacco narrative and how pipes have been an integral part of our enjoyment of this natural wonder from the first reed drawn fire pit to the elaborate creations of someone like Talbot. (Trevor)

Thank you all again.
Yes, eBay has not been my friend when it comes to acquisition. In my defense, I was learning about what I do and don't like about pipes. No better way to learn than by doing.
I agree that it's about the tobacco. I'm enjoying learning now about what I like and don't like there.

Welcome. My first few pipes were Brighams. Darn good smokers. I gave up using the rock maple filters after a short time. We're talking 1972 or thereabouts. I ended up gifting those pipes to a newbie a couple of years ago. I'm sure they're still going great.

<p>Welcome aboard. I started a little late too but as they say, better late than never. Best thing that ever happened to my wife - calmed me right down
