Happy Thanksgiving guys !

Thank the Lord tomorrow for the blessings He's given us . With all my/our problems I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else !

Just a gentle suggestion : there may be one or more family members who are upset about , oh , say , events that have occurred maybe in the recent past ...... . Be the mature , restrained one . Your tongue/ temper can cause damage that can't be fixed .

Again , have an enjoyable day !
God bless

Worth repeating. There may be New York Yankee fans at your table.

An English Christmas is the usual traditional time for acts of violence over here, when the extended family reunites briefly at the table. Well, sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Now Mrs. Badger and I have never celebrated Thanksgiving before, but recently befriended a visiting couple from NC who are having an extended (3-month) vacation in England - largely, they've said, to avoid any unpleasantness around and after the events to which I suspect you refer. They have very kindly invited us (plus four as yet unknown persons) over to their rented cottage for Thanksgiving dinner. From the less-than-complimentary (and unsolicited) comments they have already made about what has happened to a certain party in recent years Mrs. B. and I shall consider it our duty as guests to steer the table talk well away from those subjects and onto our mutual interest in farming. They grow tobacco, so this shouldn't be too hard. May all our Thanksgivings be free of all stress and dissent (and in the past tense for Canadians).

We have celebrated Thanksgiving only once ever - with a former neighbour - an American (and his Aussie wife).
Turkey, corn bread, sweet potatoes, pecan pie - the lot 😋
We have been living in our current home for almost 40 years and Jeff was the friendliest and nicest neighbour we have had in all these years. Very sorry when he moved to take on another posting.
