Hello everyone, I’ve been smoking pipes for about 10 yrs and am generally a lurker because there are so many experts here and I like to do my own research. It makes learning fun! I usually buy estate pipes and especially sasieni pipes mostly fan tails and seconds. I recently splurged and bought what I hoped to be my holy grail, a family era four dot Pembroke but am baffled by the plumbing. Maybe someone could help a newbie out? Cheers

Welcome from the UK!

What's up with the plumbing? Is is something you can take a picture of?

FA809B8A-AC6D-45FB-8B89-5BA0F04C8316.jpegMy #19 Old England is on left, you can see the mortise and the smaller opening that runs through the shank, Four Dot on right is open and tenon is larger. Was wondering if someone opened up the draft and drilled out the mortise or if it had a stinger removed.

Nice! So it appears (Do Sasieni Buyers/Collectors Care about Stingers? :: British Pipes - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/do-sasieni-buyers-collectors-care-about-stingers.48045/) that some Sasinis did have stingers - going by the photo, that would be my guess, but hopefully someone more experienced than me will chip in.

Thanks for looking at it and your time. I’ve read that thread as well. I’m hoping it was just a stinger removal . It smokes well and the shank doesn’t get hot, I guess that’s the bottom line. Ty again.
