Ahoy me scallywags! May 2017 be sunk in th' lowest depths! Nah that 'twas a bad year, but we lost a few scallywags along th' way. May they remembered fer many years t' come as they were a joy t' 'ave aboard this fine ship... whether or nah they liked Black Frigate or nah. Sure we've had a few new names comes aboard, but thar are some whos ship sailed on 'n they will be missed. May 2018 be smooth sailin' fer us all, 'n may yer rum ne'er run out, 'n may yer pipes always remain full o' whatever yer tobacco o' choice. Happy New Year Pipes Magazine!

A little too much rum, I'm guessing. :rofl: I'm finishing up a glass of rum myself and about to hit the bunk. Normally I can stay up later, but today was a rough day at work so I was tired already. 2017 went out with a bang in the meat market today.

Tonight, we have ale here. High of 34 degrees today.
May be warm to you northern sorts, but to a converted Texan with only a motorbike for transport, it's a logistic challenge.
I did learn that sitting on the porch in my insulated riding suit is quite comfy for smoking, even at freezing temps on a cold, metal chair. By the end of the pipe, however, my hot coffee HAD become iced coffee....

I don't think we made it into the 30's here in Fort Worth today. And cold weather does indeed make for a miserable ride on a motorcycle. Ride safe Jay.
