I have been snooping around the forum for years now and finally decided to join. This forum is the most important source of knowledge for me when it comes to our beloved pastime. I am a regular guy (husband, father) in his forties. When I go to work in the morning I am already thinking about my tobacco choice for the evening.

roebart, welcome aboard. My brother-in-law grew up in Rotterdam and has dual citizenship, and teaches at a Dutch school for kids on weekends, to expose them to the language and culture, and he's an amazing cook of Dutch food. I've been to Amsterdam and environs. I have a Big Ben churchwarden and a 14" Gouda clay pipe my sister brought me from Holland, surprisingly in one piece. There was a recent post on Forums about a contest in which skaters went from Rotterdam to Gouda and back, coming back with a clay pipe fastened to their coats. First one to get back with the pipe intact was the winner.

@artificialme: not difficult, but we can choose from less brands than two years ago because of the obligatory nasty pics on tins. Our neighbours in Germany still have a decent choice.
