Hall Mark? Silver Band? - 1916 Princeton Class Pipe

I am trying to help a guy out with reading/dating the hallmark on this Stratford billiard. I do not have this pipe on hand. The sterling band that bares the hallmark is installed on a Princeton, Class of 1916 Class Pipe. I am more comfortable with Birmingham hallmarks. This appears to be an American hallmark. Who Made That Pipe? cites both Sasieni and WDC as potential makers. If this is an American hallmark, I would go with WDC of course. Thanks for any help you can offer...

It's just a fake hallmark. Adding a fake hallmark was sometimes done to suggest a quality of "class" to a pipe, and was also done when the band was silver plated nickel. I guess the reasoning went something like, "The buyer won't know a real hallmark from a fake one, he'll just be impressed".
