My flee market find this weekend:
Its in perfect shape. I remember seeing this as a kid. An E-bay ad says made in the 60's. But I think they where made after that, anyone know? Its not worth anything, but I didn't pay much either, great addition to my collection of junk I'll never use...
My Uncle Bob, about whom I've written here before, smoked almost exclusively Half and Half. I am happily reminded of him whenever I see something like this.
I must admit that I have yet to try the stuff.
At one time my BIL smoked it exclusively, he sampled my CH and says he never bought another pouch of half and half.
So I just never tried it. His main complaint was bite. I'm gonna have to give it a go if I'm gonna keep the can I guess...
I would love to know how it was kept all these years. It looks brand new, the label or plastic shows no fade at all.
Is it just the container, or is it still sealed with tobacco? I don't think I've ever seen one of these, though I certainly remember the brand in the old days. I find today's version a little bite prone. For tub 'baccy, I like CH, PA, and PC's Chestnut.
I had a barrel of monkeys when I was a kid. Use to see them at yard sales now and again.
This one was empty and as clean inside as it is outside. I would guess that back when sold new the contents where sealed separately with in the decanter. Just because I don't see the seal as being any kind of air tight.
But I'm sure the whole thing could have come sealed in stretch wrap of some fashion...
"Bite" was my BIL's complaint with Half and Half.
