TAD order arrived.
The Black House smells exactly like I expected it to -- like a fine English/Oriental. Whether it smells or will taste just like Balkan Sobranie of old, I won't be able to say. I had some friends who smoke Balkan Sobranie cigarettes back in college 30+ years ago, but I don't know how that compared to the pipe blend and hardly remember the smell anyway. Still, I really love English tobacco blends (hmm, only English thing about which I can say that) and it seems likely this will be in the norm for those.
The Escudo, on the other hand -- well now that is a horse of a different color, as the Wizard might say. Not a smell or appearance I really associate with pipe tobacco at all. I suspect I will either really like this or really not. Doesn't seem like something subject to indifference.
(And yeah, I opened both tins at the office, even though I don't smoke my pipes here. I'll be trying these both with the next 24 hours, though, so no reason to wait for "tin note.")
