Just wondering if anyone out there has ever grown their own tobacco? I'm a bit of a fanatic gardener, and this year I'm growing about a dozen and a half different varieties of pipe tobaccos. A lot of them are old Indian heirloom ceremonial varieties, and the rest are newer hybrid cultivars, but all of them say they make wonderful pipe tobacco.
I have a big garage with a well ventilated upstairs loft that's almost custom-made to air cure tobacco. I don't think I'd have much luck trying to flu-cure any, because that requires weeks or months in a smokehouse that I don't have, but I should be good to go with air-cured tobacco.
This is my first attempt at this, and i'd love any suggestions from folks who grow their own.
