Hello everyone! Like many others, I’ve been lurking on this site here there, and decided that this is a pretty cool community, so I decided to make an account. I’m from Oakland, CA and have been smoking a pipe off and on for about 10 years. More off than on at first, but pretty steadily for the past couple of years.

VaPers and Englishes are my steady main squeezes with the most common two (as of late) being Bayou Morning and HH Latakia Flake; however, I have been rotating in some Half & Half quite a bit since trying it for the first time a couple months ago.

Ive got a dozen or so briars and a couple meerschaums in my pipe rotation with my favorites being an Age Boglund Freehand, a Nording Cut, and an AKB. I’m not well versed in pipe shapes and nomenclature, I just buy what calls to me.

Anyway, I’m glad to be here, and thanks for having me! Wishing you all good times and happy smokes.

Welcome from Monterey Bay California.
I actually grew up in Seaside! I was recently down there for a wedding (not mine) and popped into Hellam’s Tobacco Shop. First time I’d been in that shop in over a decade. Last time I was there I picked up some Frog Morton, and now they don’t have any tins for sale. Ended up buying a Peterson Churchwarden because it’s hard for me to leave those kinds of shops empty handed. Lol. Anyway, it’s good to see some hometown folk on here. ☮️

Did you hit the Carmel Pipe Shop? They actually have real tobacco in tins and bags, as well as briar and meerschaum pipes! The size of a big closet, they are a gem of a shop.

I used to live in a town next to Oakland, and the Piedmont Tobacconist was my go to. Very sad now.

Welcome to the forum!!
