Hello all,

I recently returned to pipe smoking after a couple of decades away from it. I started smoking a pipe during my first year of university about 40 years ago using some old briars I inherited from an old gentleman who watched over me as a child. I immediately took to it though it was a hobby that definitely made me an outlier at college. However, I found one of my friends had a secret desire to smoke a pipe so I quickly had a pipe smoking buddy. Smoked on and off for about 15 years and even took a crack at carving my own briars in the 90s. Still have a couple of them. I set aside the pipe when my children came and when they approached adulthood a year or two back, I picked up some tobacco and dusted off my old pipes. I went back and forth between the pipe and cigars (always an occasional weekend smoke) until about a month ago when I moved over to the pipe on a more regular basis. I immediately started reading, listening and watching online content about pipe smoking and have started to collect a range of tobaccos. I am enjoying it all immensely. I'm not much of a joiner, but I've found this online community interesting and helpful in my journey so decided to introduce myself and thank the you all for helping motivate me to return to this hobby.
