Hello, all! I've been an occasional lurker on these forums for the past couple of years and figured it was finally time to jump into the fray.
I've been a pipe smoker for almost 20 years now. My rotation mostly consists of English and Balkan blends, with a few VaPers thrown into the mix. I've recently started exploring the wonderful world of burley and it's been a fun and tasty journey so far.
Looking forward to learning a ton from you fine folk and helping out those new to the pipe when I'm able.
Cheers!

Sadly, that’s been my experience as well. Tobacco Trader in Culver City is the best shop I’ve found. They stock a pretty good selection of GL Pease, Samuel Gawith, Mac Baren, Rattray’s and Dunhill tins, along with some Stokkebye bulks. They also have some house blends (which I’ve not tried) and a healthy-ish selection of pipes.
I stop in and buy some tins whenever I’m in the neighborhood (gotta support the local B&Ms, right?) but truth be told, the majority of my tobacco is purchased online.
I think I remember seeing a couple of posts from you regarding the Los Angeles Pipe Club. Do you still attend their meetings? I’ve yet to check them out.

Fan of A. Hitchcock? Or was a MacGuffin an known term before he used it. (only place I've heard it was from his lips, but that doesn't mean much as to other possibilities)
EDIT: I effin googled it......
Well, Wiki has a lot to say about it, and here's a small excerpt.
The name "MacGuffin" was coined by the English screenwriter Angus MacPhail[5] and was popularized by Alfred Hitchcock in the 1930s.

Oh yes, definitely a Hitchcock fan. And thanks for the googling...I'd always assumed the term was coined by Alfred himself ;)

I think they're still around though I haven't attended in a couple of years. You'll have to look for them on Facebook:

Their old site appears to have closed.
