Hey folks! I've been an piper for about 25 years. I travel a bit for work and alternate between Michigan and Florida as a home base. I used to be pretty active on ASP "back in the day" and fondly remember Sailorman Jack's daily greetings. My cellar, while far from extensive, brings me great joy as does my modest, if eclectic, pipe collection. My son recently began smoking pipes and it's a joy to share time and tobacco with him. Happy puffing!

Elric, welcome aboard. You sound made for Forums. I don't think I ever traveled as much as you, but I did for business and recreation, and usually took several pipes, in socks, and a few tins or baggies or pouches. My pipe case was a drugstore nylon toilet kit, to discourage theft ... looked like my deodorant and toothpaste etc. Lots of good info, expertise, and opinion here.

Welcome from Colorado. I have been a road warrior at times in my life. I logged over 250,000 in 2001 around the world. My biggest year. Glad that's over.

When I worked for a realty company, I took pictures of foreclosed homes. I was the first person to see the houses and had to look at 15 or so every day in my own vehicle. I put 80,000 miles on my Jeep in the first year. Sheesh
