Welcome! Today I learned that zoomers can be as old as 25! I was scratching my head wondering how a preteen could have such a bevy of tobacco in todays world, but looks like I’m just a little behind the times.

I personally might recommend the nightcap - it’s a little more forgiving and less likely to cause tongue bite compared to the virginias you’ve got, and I find a nice smoky blend tends to grab cigar smokers initially better than a more subtle Virginia as well.

But as Brian mentioned above, you really do have some nice blends - plenty of accessible stuff and some that are no longer sold and are considered more collectible. Great stuff all around, welcome from Canada!

Received this haul from a friend to start me on my pipe smoking journey. Primarily a cigar smoker. Where should I start?
Hello and welcome to the Forum from Deep in the Heat, I mean Heart of Texas. You will find this to site to be informative and the members insightful (and at times, most entertaining). Enjoy your stay!

You have a very nice friend in providing this selection! I 2nd bluegrass Brians suggestion by starting with the Orlik Golden sliced. I do not support some other persons suggestion of beginning with something heavy such as Nightcap. That stuff will make your head spin if not accustomed to a strong Vitamin N blend.

Welcome!
Of those, the only ones I have experience with are 965 and Saint Bruno. Which are both very nice.

If you want to go really wild and crazy, maybe step out of your comfort zone as a cigar user: Saint Bruno is flavored with flowers.

Lane 1Q is a good bet. Real easy and smells great at least.

Orlik is easy but bland in my opinion. YMMV.

I loved anything with Latakia from first sip, very early on in my trials. You either do or you don't. But it doesnt hurt to try. I'd stay away from dark fired kentucky blends for a lil bit until you learn to pace yourself. And after 15yrs, i still avoid any blends with substantial perique as i find it too spicy but ive had friends who only smoke cigars that prefer perique blends over any other. Its all you choice. Nothing to lose but the sense of feeling in your tongue for a day or so if you really hit the gas. 🤣

Just smoke slow. Its about taste and not cloud chasing. The less smoke while still lit is objectively better. You will relight alot. Everyone does. Pack light. Enjoy.

Welcome to the forums! Your friend has set you up with a very nice assortment. I would approach each blend with an open mind and smoke them as slowly as you can manage. (I spent many years not getting as much enjoyment as I could have in pipe smoking, due to smoking too fast and going for big puffs of smoke every time.)
