Good day to you all. Chris here, I have been pipe smoking for for 15 or so years and cigar smoking longer than that.

Originally hailing from the UK but moved to France three years ago.

I found the forum having stumbled on the radio show/podcast about a year ago.

Nice to meet you all and I hope to contribute what I can to the forum.

Happy puffing

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina, U.S. I'm a big fan of French pipes -- BC, Chacom, Vuillard, Genod. As I'm often saying, always quality beyond their price point.

Soyez Le Bienvenue Monsieur, have You happen to try Tabac de Scaferlati Superior or Caporal Export?

Hey Paul,

Scaferleti I have never even seen in my tobacconists. Caporal yes, but I think it had sat on the shelf for yearsas it was adry as a bone. In the end I tipped a shot of bourbon into the pack and left it for a month. Turned it into sweet deliciousness. In France (especially where I am) pipe tobacco is limited. I have a choice of three tobaccos in a 40 mile radius. Furthermore mail order tobacco is illegal within france. Not a single french online tobacco retailer.

Technically not, though im sure its possible. I have yet to try as i dont know the best placs to try.

I'd hit up Esterval's Pipe House in Germany. Good reliable retailer with huge selection.

May want to research how strict France is on importation and such though, God only knows what kind of fines or worse yet confiscations you might be exposing yourself to. Synjeco is another retailer in Switzerland that is very discreet about package markings and shipping info though, they often even call it a "birthday present" in email communications, haha. Their selection is much smaller though, but good. My be a better option if you end up attempting to sneak something in under the radar.

One way or another you gotta get yourself some more tobacco, sir! 3 blends is just..........well, not enough!

Thanks for that, I'll have to give it a try. I have had tobacco come in before as gifts (candle making supplies) so I know it cas pass through. I shall have a look at those sites.
