Gents and Ladies,
I am traveling next week to the above cities, starting in Greenville, and will drive to the other cities, including a stop ins, Aiken, SC. I'd love recommendations for pipe shops, and particularly, any factories, blenders, makers, even fields or barns that might exist nearby.

Thank, Ray.
John- Thanks, did that before posting, but the page for locating stores is out of date and incomplete, so I am hoping for current knowledge. Plus I am also interested in the other things I mentioned.

We stayed on Isle of Palms, outside Charleston, 2 winters ago. I found Towne Center Tobacco & Wine in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mostly cigars and wine but they did have some very interesting pipe tobacco tins. It turns out that the owner is a pipe guy and likes to bring in some unusual stuff. I bought about 6 tins while I was there; all with some age on them.

Charleston: Charlestowne Tobacco and Wine on E Bay Street is well worth a visit. Oh and while you're there Pearlz is about five stores down, and have some of the best oysters I've ever had (in the US anyway). Less on the tobacconist and more on the food front, be sure to swing by 39 Rue de Jean right next to the music hall (also happens to be next to one of the more convenient car parks in the area, just fyi). Plus there's a store that sells amazing macaroons just a few doors down. Rue de Jean can be pretty pricey, but all you really need there is the mussels five ways, which are on the more reasonable side. Oh and between 39 Rue de Jean and Pearlz (a big walk, but well worth it, it'll take you through King St, the historic district, and onto the waterfront) is Husk. Hush is generally overpriced and overhyped, but their bar is in a separate building, be sure to check it out and grab a Charleston Dragoon Punch. Finally in Charleston is Lewis Barbecue. You'll need to drive there as they're nowhere near downtown, but dude, so good.
Savannah: Ye Olde Tobacco Shop on the waterfront of the historic district is worth a visit. While you're there check out One Eyed Lizzys on the waterfront. Their blackened gator quesadilla is amazing. Also in Savannah is another 39 Rue de Jean, just in case you missed it in Charleston (seriously dude, the mussels five ways). They happen to be right next to the Thunderbird Inn if you're looking for somewhere to stay. Clean and central to the historic district, plus they're a lot of fun (popcorn in the lobby and moonpies and RC Cola on your pillow). Ooh, not far from there in the north eastern corner of the historic district is Savannah Coffee Roasters. Run by an Australian guy (who got jack of the terrible coffee in the US I guess :)).
That's about all I have. Though if you come any further north be sure to come see us at Low Country Pipe and Cigar :D

FYI, Charleston especially, and Savannah to some degree, are fabulous food cities, really remarkable. Check out a good tour guide book in a book store for starters.
