I admire pipe craftsmen who can bring together different materials and textures into a coherent
whole. This is a really good example of that. The unusual bowl caught my eye; what is rock cob?
Somehow merged with bamboo, antler and what looks like an acrylic stem. In lesser hands, this
could be a real horror story. But here it is elegant and even in some strange way traditional --
maybe the antler does that for it. How did this pipe happen? Did you commission it? Brainstorm
with the pipe maker? Or are you the pipe maker? And if not, do you know how he/she came to do
this one. It's pretty unusual and interesting. I'd like to know a little more about it.
