I often wondered what it feel like to be around several avid pipe smokers that truly enjoy smoking their pipes. Saw some great pipe work from a guy that's a part of our club. He brought a bunch of his newest creations to show off and another guy bought a beautiful freehand he made on the spot. He does great work and I will likely engage in a commissioned pipe from him when I'm ready.
We sat around smoking and talking, drinking a few beers, eating a little food, then smoking and talking until the sun went down on the patio of the restaurant we meet at. I even got to try a few blends on my list as well. I was lent a bowl of Presbyterian in exchange for a bowl of my Connoisseurs Choice. I was also granted a bowl of 5100 for a bowl of my Maltese Falcon.
It was a very splendid evening that I hate I'll miss next month as I'll be out of town for a wedding, but I will definitely be back for the November meeting. Great bunch of guys and it feels so good to be able to enjoy our pipes and talk about our hobby. It's especially good for the wife, since I can get my tobacco chatter out of her ears for at least one night a month. :rofl:
