Just looking for a set of expert eyes for any special insight on what shape you'd call this, maybe a possible year of manufacture, any information would be interesting for my own enjoyment. The bowl as a decent sized crack and you can see lots of cake buildup, I've never separated the stem and would probably never smoke out of this since it has seen so much use. The Stamp says Premier Aged Briar Italy with a small star on the topside of the stem.

What would you do with a sentimental pipe in this state of repair? Leave it as is and enjoy it as a memento? Restore it and not smoke it? Or restore with the goal being to smoke it occasionally?

Its a Yachtsman/Yacht/Zulu shape. Most likely post WWII 1947-1960. I would just keep it as a memento of you Great Grandfather. It's only value is sentimental, and that would be a fairly difficult repair.
Thank you for the rapid answer! I think my best bet would be tracking down a pipe that's similar and in a much more smoke-able condition.

If you wish to invest money in it to get it to smoking condition that would be great way to remember you grandfather. I don't think getting another one like it would have anywhere near the meaning to you.
