I was almost home, when my uncle called me he had a gift for me. I flipped around and head over to his place. he told me My grandfather had given him a bag of stuff and he found the Meer he had given him in the mid 80's from when he was stationed in Turkey and that the both had decided to give it to me because I would really enjoy it. I grandfather quit smoking in the 50's so the pipe just sat around till he gave it back to my Uncle. He told me it payed around $50 after haggling with the man selling it. it is marked 75 USD. So now I have Both of My Grandfathers pipe my dads Dads corncob and my Mom Dads Meer.

That's some very fine carving there. Like I always say...I hope that it smokes as good as it looks.

Wow, that is really cool!! I like the 'lattice' used on the details. Super sweet!

Thanks I am a little scared to smoke it even though he told me to. the stem will only unscrew from the meer it look as if it was double drilled in the stem one went down under the bowl the second right into the bowl in the proper place. But I love this pipe I always have since i was a little kid.

I spoke to my mom today trying to find out what kind of pipe baccy my grandpa used to smoke (Prince Albert, apparently) and she said she'd ask him what he's going to do with his pipes. She said they (my mom/aunts/uncle) all bought him a "porcelain" pipe one year, really nice looking - I almost guarantee it was a Meer, though I never saw him smoke it. I might get to have a few of his pipes when I go home. :D
