Hi,
Does anyone know how to grade of this Tsuge Ikebana Pipe? There is no marking, stamp. I have seen quite many Estate Ikebana pipes like this one but still can't not find information about this.
Thanks

I have seen this kind of stamp few times on ikebana pipe. It is an old pipe, maybe few decade ago. I do not think it has been made recently 🙂

Do you have more pictures of the pipe? It is very unusual.

I have never seen an Ikebana with that style of Tsuge logo. Plus older Ikebanas should be all graded (up until 2006/7 I think) and as far as I was aware they had always stamped the pipemaker's kanji too.

And this is more, the stamp is AA 4/38

Firstly, let me say, I don't claim any authority on identifying or grading Ikebanas. I'm just fond of their pipes and did A LOT of research before I purchased mines.

Now with that said, if I'm honest, these pictures look worse. Do you have pictures of the pipes with these stamps? Both pipes look maybe to be rusticated and I'm curious with the finish.

Going by the stamping alone, I'd recommend against purchasing those pipes..
