A while back I did that email your Senator thing about RYO tobacco fronting as pipe tobacco in order to dodge the heavy tax increase. Well my Senator actually sent me back a typed up letter thanking me for contacting him about it. He said that he voted against the legislation in '09 to increase tax rates on both pipe an ryo tobacco when he was a member of the House of Representitives. Pretty much his view on the issue is if you keep taxing tobacco it will create smuggling and a completely unregulated tobacco market. Also he did state that any tax increases on the tobacco market would be a bad idea because it would further hurt the industry in an already bad economy. Good to see a Senator whose thinking is pretty much in line with ours.
