Good Pipe Experience With Order From Switzerland

I just received a very nice estate Castello GG 15 Old Antiquari from a Basel Switzerland shop that also sells on eBay. The order was placed on 11/12, the pipe was in the hands of the Swiss Postal Service on 11/13, and I have it in my hands on 11/20. I was able to track the shipment every step of the way, including its entry into and out of US Customs. The declaration said used pipe and gave the correct value. No surprise charges. No reams of paperwork. I did have to sign for the package, but I was at home. My mail carrier is a friendly chap, and we had a nice chat about local things , I guess YMMV. l

I had the same experience with what I think is the same seller. Ordered a Dunhill on the 1st, it was here in Chicago on the 6th. Pipe was just as described. They go by swisspipeshop on ebay.

The pipe wasn’t the point. It is in one room, I am in another now. I will see if I can link the sellers picture.

Steinmanns Pfeifenladen is the shop name. European friends tell me they have a large selection of pipes and tobacco and a very knowledgeable owner.

Well, with all the bashing of US government employees that has occurred here of late, I kind of thought props were in order for the US Postal Service and the Customs Service. The only issues I have had with overseas pipe orders in the last three years have happened when DHL or Fed Ex were the shippers, and those were minor.

Actually, they posted an Old Antiquari Great Line estate today that looked nice, though I didn’t flyspeck it. I don’t need another Greatline OA, at least right now.

Glad you had a good experience. I almost ordered from them a couple of weeks ago and hesitated. Now I will keep watch when they post some pipes on ebay. Just checked and they have nothing available. I need more Old Antiquari pipes
