I'm trying to figure out what the answer is. You guys seem like a really great group. I've gotten advice, opinions, and a lot more. Yeah, I'm very, very new to all of this so my story is old news to all of you. I just got my first Peterson in yesterday and I love it. But since I didn't have any quality tobacco at home, I didn't want to smoke anything but the best in it. So today, I've ordered 6/1 oz. packs of Cornell & Diehl. If that wasn't enough, a few hours later I ordered 3 tins of Peterson and a Peterson Kinsale XL11 w/ a P-Lip. I've heard a lot of GOOD and BAD about the P-Lip, so I decided to try for myself. Well thanks to all of the advice, it seems I want to spend more and more. Will it end soon or am I about to become a pauper with a lot of cool pipes and great tobacco? Time will tell.

Great! I have a long way to go then. My mental state right now is like being in a race. I want more and more and more...

You're perfectly normal.
Have you given any serious consideration to buying some ½-pint Mason jars so you

don't have to finish one tin before you open another? How about cellaring some bulk

purchases to see how they age? :)

Lol, yeah, it doesn't get easier either. My wife told me I have to keep my collection to 50 pipes and under. Which in all honesty, is fine with me. If there's a pipe out there that I HAVE to have beyond my 50, then I'll just find one to sell or give away. Right now, I'm at about 15-20 in my personal collection, so still have a good ways to go.

Thanks Cortezattic. Yes I'm going to get some mason jars this evening in fact. So the 1/2 pint size is good for the small tins? Are there specific sizes you get besides the 1/2 pint?

As I am pretty content with the amount of tobacco I have (and exposed to , on this side of the globe) I am more leaning towards having more pipes, so yes, this does not end :) I bought in January an artisan's free hand for quite some money and weheras I said I am not buying more pipes this year, I am definitely keeping an eye open!

I found a bunch of spice jars at a local Family Dollar for #1 each. They are perfectly sized for an even 2oz. tobacco. Looks slightly better than Mason Jars if your going to be setting them up on a shelf or something where they will be visible.

As the little old lady who used to live next door to me used to say"Vell, it couldn't hurt to try!"

Yeah I had 40 pipes within 3 months of starting. . . then I told myself not to spend any more - -then I ran out of spare cash and finally had to stop XD Believe me, any spare cash I get these days is constantly going to pipes or tobacco and there is no fighting it once you let yourself get going. It's like watching a train wreck. . .but good.

Definitely. You are all a GOOD bad influence. Once I have an Arthur Original, there will be no hope for recovery!
