Yep, that is what my wife said to me this afternoon. However the day did not begin so optimistic.
First thing this morning I purchased a power rack and a little over #500 in plates from Rogue Fitness. Of course she insisted to know how much I spent. When I told her she was not exactly thrilled. Yes I tried the "It is for both of us and our health" but she just didn't buy it.
After a few hours of Christmas shopping for the kids we ended up at a camera shop. This summer she had dropped her camera on some rocks while we were trout fishing. It completely shattered the camera. With her objection, I picked her up a Nikon D3400 with a 18-45mm and 70-300mm. Also purchased her the Landscape and Macro lens set. Now the table has turned.
I made a pipe purchase.....But I would like to know how far you would go with a quote like that? :puffpipe:

Of course you are special because you are the Captain. BTW, black frigate is one of my favorite blends and I have you to thank.

You are very welcome. All I meant was, my wife being legally blind, doesn't work. I'm the sole provider, and when bills are paid, food is in, and kids are clothed, if a pipe pops up that I like, it gets grabbed. The Mrs., doesn't even raise an eyebrow. She says if it's something that soothes my nerves, have at it.

My wife would never say that to me. If she did then I would know something is up, and be very skeptical of the whole idea.
When I open my lunch at work, and there's a big steak dinner, I know my wife is dropping a hint that she wants something.

Here
Legally blind, Cap'n?
Explains how we got you married off so easily....
Har har har!
His name is Embers, he spearheads our ship

He's always afoot with a pipe and a quip

He knows what we need on every trip

Whether a helping hand or a taste o' the whip
We sail with pride on the Frigate each day

For fun and adventure and, of course, our fair pay

We each get a bit o' the precious dark cake

And a share of the booty from every take
And when we reach port, Captain Chasing Embers

Races to land because he remembers

A beautiful lass blessed with kindness and grace

Loves him so dearly 'cause she don't see his face...
:nana:
Just makin' sport, Cap'n. Don't shoot!

And yes I will die and go to hell....Along with the pipe I took this opportunity to toss in a few tins of St. Bruno's and Royal Yacht.

Not really a relevant question for me. I suppose there are all kinds of marriages. As long as it works for you. . .
And nice pipe.

I'm the penny-pincher, so most of my most lavish pipes come as gifts from my wife. I'm the guy who picked up the Tsuge tasting pipe on sale from PC for $39.99. Right now, we're shopping for an oven, for both of us. Our old one has been patched and received new elements for about fifty years (not entirely with us in residence). The cabinet cut-out doesn't fit current sizes so we'll have to have the slot enlarged or masked in. My wife is a talented cook/baker/chef/candy-maker etc., so I want her to have something sturdy and good -- convection, self-cleaning, on into the 21st Century. I can mull the details smoking the Nording zebra hunting pipe she bought me for my birthday ... or a number of other gifts from her.
