These two acquisitions came in not too bad a condition other then needing a polishing and a little stem work. I cleaned the briar with Murphays Oil Soap followed by a polishing with Carnauba wax and buffing using a Dremel Tool. I used Gator Brand 1200 Scuffing/Polishing wet sandpaper on the stems followed by buffing with Carnauba wax as mentioned above. To clean the rims of both pipes I also used the 1200 grit paper followed by a light coat of leather dye to match the original finish.

Nicely done Durham! I love the top of the Savinelli, great contrast to the dark stain. I really like the shank extension on the Stanwell as well. Great work sir!

Thanks for the terrific post! Both of those pipes look wonderful. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into

taking these pix and getting them posted. (That Stannie looks like a great smoker.)

Thanks guys! Happy to report they are both really good smokers! I never get tired of refinishing pipes. It's got to be my favorite past times. Such a rewarding feeling when finished.
