Copenhagen! I don't know why but my first instinct upon opening my bag of Dark Flake Scented is it smells like opening a tin of Copenhagen. It doesn't take like Copenhagen when smoked but the smell is distinctive.

What does it's smell remind you of?

Hmm.. I've used Cope for many years and can't seem to put the two scents together.

Dark Flake scented smells like nothing else I can think of, except pure bliss, maybe. ;)

Given how tobacco tastes and smells is a very subjective thing, I'm keen on hearing the replies from others.

I have no idea what Copenhagen smells like, but I haven't found anything else that comes close to DF scented. I just always think of the flavor as "cosmopolitan," not floral nor dead grandma panty-ish nor anything else that I would normally associate with Lakelands.
I may have to check out Copenhagen, just to get an idea of what it smells like. Maybe you're onto something.

I think the unscented version still has a little of that essence also, but tends to go away soon after lighting the pipe. The scented version does seem to make me queasy faster than the unscented version, but I've always attributed that to whatever chemicals are used for the aroma.

Yep, I know exactly the smell you mean. I grew up in tobacco country on the border between Tennessee and Kentucky. Copenhagen is made in Nashville, and Grizzy is made in Clarksville, Tennessee. the first time I ever tried cope, my impression was "it tastes like a city smells".

My high school buddies loved it but I didn't really like it but I also wasn't much of a chewer. We always got a kick out of using it as snus though. It said snuff on the can so why not? That was usually after a few beers though...
