So, I have been smoking Lane 1Q and RLP-6 for sometime now, but I can not get it to smoke as well as Carter Hall and Captain Black White from the pouch. I can not figure out if I should let it dry more or try to smoke it to wetter. Any suggestions?
By the way, I sometimes get a great smoke from it, but most times not much flavor and way to many relights. I have tried drying it, smoking it straight from the B&M. I just can not get a consistant good smoke from it.
I also pack it like I do with the Cater Hall.
One last thing, I really like Carter Hall (as I have mentioned in another post), but I also want something we a bit of aromatic flavor to it.

Actually, there is a problem with the batch of both 1-Q and RLP-6. Please send the remaining amounts to me for testing, and if they are, in fact, bad batches, I will dispose of them properly.
I've never had a problem with 1-Q, but the aforementioned suggestions of mixing are good ones.

Never had a problem with 1Q, however I usually let it sit out for a bit before storing it in glass containers. Lanes BCA seems to require a bit more drying time.

I know a former tobacconist who likes to mix RLP-6 equally with HC-3 and PS 9F, with really nice results.

Jndyer, Jason has a Great idea. Forward all tobacco to him now. Jason, keep me posted, by private message, at which time WE can move to step 2.

alternatively you could decide to smoke non-aromatics... just to see if they smoke better....
